Re: 2023 Basketball Season
November 2, 2023 Students in grades 6 will have the opportunity to practice and play basketball this season. Mr. Holland and Mr. Klassen will be helping with coaching this year. Practices will be held every Monday and Wednesday during the afternoon recess (12:10 - 12:40) leading up to the first game.
The first practice will be held on Wednesday, October 4th. Students should come to school with running shoes, shorts, and a T-shirt.

Last night the Westheights basketball has another strong performance during both games .Hustle, hard work and great defense helped preserve the 2 victories . Jaiwin ( razzle dazzle ) Chahal was the top point getter and high flying Phoenix Peden was was the leading defensive player of the game. Great game by all next day is Thursday November 16 at West Heights.

Another great afternoon of basketball at West Heights on Thursday. Once again , the team was victorious in both low scoring games. Ambar “Pink shoes Pinky" was the defensive player of the game and Mila “ Queen of Rebounds" Prodhal was outstanding. Andrew “High Flying “ Flaman was the offensive player of the game. The team takes their 4-2 record into the last game of the season on Thursday November 23.

The West Heights basketball team had their last game of the season last Thursday. Game one was a hard-fought battle with the powerhouse team from Mission Central. The Wildcats pulled away with the victory in the final few minutes. Samuel “Slick Dribbler “Zacarias was the defensive player of the game and the Prince “ The Passer" Brar and Prabnoor “ The shooter" Nandha had stellar games that helped the team win the last 2 games. Playoffs start this week. Come out cheer on the Thunderbirds in the post season.
